Bring on the heat!

I am not sure what I was thinking... Ironman is a bit far away to be training in the middle of the Kona sunshine... but yesterday I did it.

Laced up the shoes, slapped on the visor, and hit good old Ali'i Drive. YOUCH! It was a scorcher. I started to see stars, my head was spinning, I got a bit dizzy. Everything went black a couple times... I wanted to slow but I had a few "steady states" to do...

This morning I woke up feeling completely dehydrated. My head still feels light, and my calves are burning as if they are craving water and minerals!

After reading about 6 blogs full of massive snow reports, inches of snow fall, temperatures colder than my freezer, I thought I should warm blog land up a bit...cheers to my blog pals in the cold!

Okay, off to hang MORE posters!

Thanks for warming us up!!! I would probably die if I had to run in Hawaii right now!!! :) What we need is to mix our temps together and we'd have the most perfect weather. :) Hope you get yourself rehydrated!

Oh my, and I thought Arkansas was bad. You mean you never get a break from the heat?
Just wondering, do you know Andy Baldwin, the guy that was on The Bachelor who is a Navy doctor somewhere in Hawaii and an IM triathlete? If you do, could you send him to me in Little Rock? :-)

I'm realizing after reading all of these blogs that maybe Atlanta isn't TOO terrible in the weather dept. We've got lows in the 30's (18ish if it's REALLY bad), and the summer's can be excrutiating if it's 100 with 90% humidity. But we do get to have seasons, and that's nice!

Try to relax in the COOL breeze watching those bananas on your porch sipping on some iced tea!! Oh man... that sounds good! Take it easy :)

Hey Bree, maybe you should blog at least 2 paragraphs about the heat every day. That might warm us up a bit. I am oddly envious of your bout with heat stroke (how screwed up is that?!?). We just got another 8 inches of snow here...

How cool that you're gonna be posting all over Kona! Love it. I don't know why, but I didn't realize you're living there. I've been there once. LOVED it. Went snorkeling at some beach and took one of those trips to a cove where you get to jump off the boat and snorkle some more.....what fun! I want to go back someday.....I also got a free night in Honolulu on the way back because they overbooked the flight. It was awesome!! Right on the beach....I'd take sun over snow ANY DAY!!!

I rode my bike outside because it was to "hot" - 36 F after the snow. We have over 65" this year and more clouds and below zero temps than I can ever remember.
