Wanted: Training Partner...

Lisa, Coach, and I at Thetis Lake

I am home and "officially" back in the full-swing of training. After 4 solo training sessions I am MISSING chasing Lisa and my coach on my case... They make me better. So, here goes nothing...

Training Partner wanted, must enjoy:

  • Long treadmill sessions
  • Hot Kona mid day runs- you carry the fluids...
  • 5:30 a.m. bike sessions (have to be prompt! I need to get home for Kainoa)
  • For bike intervals I need someone to get on my case, I often day dream on the Queen K.
  • Swim as fast as Lisa and let me draft, not yell at me for touching your feet...
  • Open water swims-sometimes in big surf. No wet suit needed.

Just let me know if you are going to be in Kona anytime from now till August 18th... I could use some IM Canada training partners...

Hi Bree! Hooty wants to be your partner-he's really fast and swims awesome and runs like there is no tomorrow and he's a speed racer on the bike! Call him-or have Kainoa call him.... we love you, Mom....(train hard...and smile)

Bree, I'd give my right arm to head to the Big Island 11 weeks from IM! You can do it! Best of luck!

I think you lost me with that last picture- ha! Well, I wouldn't make a good training partner for you, but I could be your PT. IT band and deep tissue work- coupled with some joint mobs- I am all yours!

Bree if I "must" come to Kona and fill your available position, I will. I will be willing to help you out on this one...just let me know where to rent a scooter!

I have a pink scooter for rent!!

I will be back in Kona soon. Can I be considered a training partner?
Will ride with you on Queen K if you like. Also, I love swimming in ocean I can bring my dolphin friends for escort!

I'll help anyway I can but I'm expensive. Cookies and Power Bar hand-me downs is my fee!!

Peace

Wish I could come, although I think I would be exhausted after about 25 yards of the swim. If Karlyn isn't around then one of Pat's dolphins could probably keep up with you. Maybe Luis could run with you. And there's that friend of yours on Oahu who bikes really fast. Since she usually doesn't carry nutrition on long rides, she would have enough room to carry yours. If you day dream on the bike, then don't listen to Bob Marley on the I-Pod while riding. If I ever make it to Kona, I will definitely go out to train with you, even if you only see me at the start line.

good luck finding training partners with scare tactics like that picture!
maybe you should call up one of your old surfer friends to paddle along while you "draft" off the board...maybe run behind jim on a bike (with kainoa in tow)...you can even teach him to use a stopwatch...

if you figure out how to stop the bike daydreaming- give me a call!

That is some serious surf!

Good luck finding a training partner. Maybe you can entice Lisa to come out to Hawaii?

It's so funny that you posted this today!! I've been dreaming of escaping the cold winters of Ottawa and of living and training in Hawaii for some time now but being a Canadian citizen and just having finished school I didn't know how it would be a possibility...Anyway, I came across the opportunity to become an "au pair" for a year and have requested to be placed in Kona! I am now just waiting for the right family to contact me. So if all goes as planned I will be there in September! I would definitely "apply" to be your training partner! lol

I would LOVE to come be your training partner but given I should be giving birth in a little while, I fail to meet any of your criteria. But if given a scooter and a bull horn I'm sure I could find some creative way to compensate.

What really is crazy about the picture is all the people are facing the wave - I would be the one running back out of the water with hands waving!!

I may steal your pic... just an FYI!
