Pro Spotting!

Since IM Hawaii just ain't happening for me I am changing sports for a couple weeks (about 6 to be exact). I am on a mission to spot all the pro's I can, don't know what I will do when I see them, haven't thought that far ahead...

Today was the first pre-Ironman pro spotting!

Driving down good old Queen K I see a tall, dark, thin, handsome guy in a white Powerbar shirt. Ooooooh, who is that!? I get a little closer... it looks like Chris Lieto... then all of a sudden he flips out his thumb! HE IS HITCHHIKING! Quite possibly the worst driver on the roads of Hawaii- I make a sharp turn onto the shoulder, step on the breaks, and say, "Need a ride?". Chris is in my truck... nice...nothing exciting happened after that. He just let me chat about my year and listened, then offered some advice. I told him he owed me 10 bucks for the ride, just kidding... but he is staying directly above my little sisters place...

And that is the first of the pros to hit Kona... This is my favorite time of year, when all the pros come to town! I will keep you posted when I spot more...

Till then, tomorrow is all about practicing for my new job of "Worlds Best Cheerleader". Rachel Ross and Katherine will be here for a long weekend of training and a couple of us locals plan to completely Cheer their heads off on a training session! I will keep you posted on that fun! I hope they are ready for what we have planned...

Bring on the Weezles!!!!

I love that you picked up Lieto - what were the odds of one pro finding another hitching down the road.. hilarious.

See you manana!

I saw him too.....I laughed at him as I zoomed buh-bye!! haahahaha!
(Just jokin)(did he stick to anything in your "clean" car?)
I can spot the pros very easily nowadays! too funny!! Did he charge you for the advice he gave you?
Rachel Ross in Kona? oh boy this could get too funny!! Please no sperm helmets on the Queen K or riding in Splish suits! Locals make fun of people in Splish/speedo suits!! LOL!

Game on!!

Pics or it didn't happen! What are the chances?

Ok, I'm going to need pics of the girls this weekend. That is part of your cheerleading job. Fail this and "World's Best Cheerleader" will have to be bestowed on someone else :P Oh, and make sure Rach has her gummies!!!

I hope the pros are better behaved when in vehicles than when on the course, be it swim or run. I think your sister could teach you something about cheerleading.

The Splish IS ON, Dolphin boy. With a cycling jersey, if I'm feeling modest. Gotta air out the road rash!

LMAO!!! HITCHHIKING! Are you serious!?!? I biked 4.5 with him today and it wasn't easy by any means. He had a long hard run afterwards, so I'm not surprised! I had my easy 40 minutes while he had 2:30 hours @ 6:20's pace. I could tell he was dreading it after the bike. We had a ton of wind on the way back. Sapped my legs for sure. Bree hook it up with some cook book recipes. HAHA! I could use some good recover meals right now. Call me when you get a chance. LATAZ!

Very flower child of you to pick up a hitch hiker! I love it!!! Hawaii sounds like the most laid back place on earth- hitchhiking pro triathletes. Now here in Memphis...
Hope your IM recovery is going well!!!

WEE! "IT'S ON!" I am in serious training to be the world's #1 Spectathlete - PRO spectathlete if you will. We will have a cheer off in Kona. I do think between you, me and Kerrie that Kona should look out on race day. There will be some serious spectator competition going on. Tell Paul to put "ring cowbell" on your schedule for this weekend.

I think you need to up the game a little bit. Every pro you spot, you have to be on a mission to steal (or borrow long term) from them and build a collection of stolen Pro junk.

Shoe laces, GUs, water bottles... get creative. Creativity gets you extra points. :-)

I love this story! I'm so jealous of where you live. The only pro's hitchhiking around my neck of the woods are professional vagrants.

That's it! I am moving to Hawaii! It looks far more beautiful than Florida (not that Florida is not beautiful, but Hawaii looks breathtaking) and nothing exciting ever happens here! Sounds fun! Well, Ironman will be in Clearwater in November. Will you be here Bree?

My Heart Leaps Up

My heart leaps up when I behold

A rainbow in the sky:

So was it when my life began;

So is it now I am a man;

So be it when I shall grow old,

Or let me die!

The Child is father of the Man;

And I could wish my days to be

Bound each to each by natural piety.
