Favorite Spot #17 and #8...

Kona holds a few of my most favorite spots on Earth (in no particular order)...

One of them is the Kona Pool (I like swimming for sure, but it has more to do with Coach Steve and the Kona Aquatics swim team). This morning as we all froze waiting to jump in the 75* water we were treated to one of the most beautiful sunrises over Hualalai! It was all shades of purple and pinks and it just sparkled over the little town of Kona and made swimming under the stars that much more amazing...

About sunset time we hit another favorite... Bike Works. My bike made the long trip over the Pacific Ocean! Kainoa tried to help the bike shop boys, (Nick & J. Dog), put it in one piece (I figured after his awesome job lacing my shoes he was ready to put a bike together)...

The boys instantly fired Kainoa, told him to get back to preschool... Kainoa laughed it off and decided to pump up some tires.

"Antonio" won't be ready for riding quiet yet... I'm just glad he made it to Hawaii in one piece!

Happy riding :)

That shot of the pool hurts.... I literally froze on the way to the pool this morning. Then swam indoors, and froze again immediately upon leaving. Jealous. Very Jealous.

I do not understand how you can have a pool as one of your favorite places. Something must have happened to you in Canada.

So when you say you froze before jumping into the 75deg water, you are taking the mickey aren't you. -1.5 for my bike commute today :( Oh how inviting that pool looks right now, I can understand how it can be one of your favourite places.

Antonio looks FAST!!!

Poor Kainoa, fired after one day on the job.
At least he always has a position in the Bree Wee support crew team.

Your pool is now one of my favorite places, too. As is "freezing" in what, 68 degree weather. Keep up the good work and get Antonio on the road quick - can't wait to hear about the first ride.

Oh I love that picture of the Kona pool. And I love swimming in outdoor pools but you can imagine in Maine that happens about 3 times a year. And thanks for the invite to swim in a real Hawaii open water event... believe me I have been working on Ange and Mary to come with me. Sounds like the kind of trip worthy of a 40th birthday don't ya think? I'll get there someday! Thanks for stopping by my blog...

Man the only experience I had remotely close to that pool was when I was swimming for Fordham and we went to St. Croix...I'm really jealous since we still have snow on the ground and more on the way....you wouldn't want to take in a room mate would ya?

I swam a mile at 65F this morning. Just four of us in the pool, and even managed a few flip turns just as Karlyn taught me. It is still cold but my local friends tell me it will only get warmer from now on, so maybe the winter is over here now.
I'm looking at MTBs and trying to get one that is big enough for me. You would have a lot of choice here. Literally masses of bikes for normal-sized people. Less than 160 days to Hapuna, don't know yet whether I can make it or not.

Swimming outdoors is a dream right now. We're in single digits here this morning!

It's good to see you and K are making the most of your time together and having fun! Can't wait to see a pic of you flying on Antonio!

Yes, I've got a lovely new ride (called Isaac of course) as well. Almost half as lovely as Antonio!
Isaac arrived just yesterday. What i love most is the very gentle and clear tic-tic-tic as it smoothly rolls forwards.
Thanks for stopping by!

Got to love those crazy bike mechanics that ham it up in your photos behind you. All that Kainoa needs is Park Tools Big Blue Book of Bike Repair and a little more reading practice and he will be top notch.

WOW! What a beautiful sunrise. I saw one like that here last week but it was the contrast of the pinks and purples with the bright white SNOW everywhere for miles that was really pretty! I'll send some to you if you want to see it! It might melt though. SO excited for you with your new bike. That's great Bree. Glad to see you so smiling and happy.

Hmm...sorry if this is a duplicate!

The sunrise photo is amazing and that's so neat you get to have that as your swimming background! Sunrises are my favorite, a beautiful start to a brand new day :-)

Love the photos of K...he is such a cutie pie, and apparently a good helper too. Ha!

Thanks for the bike box help. I finally got it all to fit...now we're ready for Florida.
