Sweat

video

sorry, not sure how to delete the second image...

The sweat test went FABULOUS! It was a 3hr sweaty mess full of power packed pedaling and full bladders! I really REALLY had to go but it would "ruin the test". SO I held it for TOO long... I will leave it at that...

Swim-run-swim-ride, it was a good day. The best quote of the day goes to Laura. She said, "This camp is so much worse than child labor." She's given birth to 3 kids, all without drugs. I rank giving birth and camp a pretty close tie. Birth might have hurt worse, but only for 10 hours and 6 minutes, this camp just never ends!

At the end of the 3hr sweat test and ride till ya puke Samantha found underwear next to (I won't say who's bike). Nobody knows how they got there or who's they were, let's just say camp is making us all delirious and the locker rooms are now where ever we feel like changing...

Tomorrow is run-swim-run. Friday is swim and sit on a plane...

This camp has been a blast! (a painful one, but a good one). Thanks a heap for all the support, I wish you all could experience something like this sometime in your tri-life. It really is fun in a weird way. AND no, this is NOT how I train back at home. Back at home I have balance and an amazing son that I get to play with... this is crazy training and without my teammates and coach no way could I survive this solo...

Enjoy your swims, rides, and runs!

OMG! That was kind of disgusting, but strangely cool that you had a man made, non-organic sweat blister or better yet a sweat pustule on your arm that drained out all that fluid. Ewww!!!

I just read you locker room post and it is Wednesday. I navigated away for ten minutes and I return to your page and your sweat test post is labeled as Friday, Jan. 16th. That's strange!

Holy cow that was gross. :) But kind of a cool test! Have fun the last few days of camp!

In Northern Florida we had a freeze lastnight. Crazy! Not as cold as Canada - but pretty darn cold for us!!

I'm so intrigued and impressed by all this. I SO want to play!!!! I'd give my left big toe for sure to go to that. I'd be crying and lost in the woods because I'd be so far behind but in a sick way I'd love it!!!! Explain that sweat bubble please? Pretty wild. And why did they make you hold it in??? torture. I hate having to pee while on the trainer.
GREAT WORK!!! Think how strong you are. I'm relieve to hear you dont' train like that at home All the time but I would like to hear about your normal day to day stuff too...anxious for your season! Enjoy travelling home to Kainoa and the Beach!!! ahhh..sounds So good. -8 here right now!
Again, great job.
And thanks for your supportive post on my blog. :)

Training camp sounded great. I am so envious. When you get home to HI read this: http://a-space-toddyssey.blogspot.com/2009/01/kind-of-like-waterboarding-yourself.html and you will understand my envy - even when you were in Canada. Can't wait to see more about surf, sand and sun. Have a safe trip!

I'm with some of the others.....can you explain the sweat test a little more. How do they measure the sweat the accumulated and also what drained off your arm?

That was neat.

The camp was probably a great way to get some training you probably would not have done if you had just stayed in Kona. Makes me wonder when I will get back into some serious training. Wish the cold weather would go away. Swimming outdoors is quite challenging at the moment.
