Going LONG...

Today was another LONG morning spent in the ocean. After my swim I just couldn't resist getting out. I was too captivated by everything under the surface of the sea... it's like another world and even though I am blessed to see it up close and personal everyday I wanted to see it more. For some reason being in the ocean makes life really good. It's like no matter what is happening on shore, how bad I feel, or how crazy life gets, it's all good in the ocean...

I did the swim coach gave me and thankfully could feel the water. My arms are coming back to life and my body is getting some strength back. Then I grabbed my camera, stuck it in my bikini, and went back to find turtles, dolphins, fish, and whatever else would let me find it...

Yesterday Dr. Traub worked some of his magic and tried to solve the "Why am I sick?" Last year he worked hard on my diet, taught me heaps about nutrition, and sold me on the "sleep and rest" thing. With a better diet, not stressing, and loads of rest I had to know why I'm sick a few times a year. I should be in the top 5% of healthy women in the universe or something!!!!

We may have found an answer... Kainoa. Just as I suspected. My side kick brings home all the preschool bullies and gives them to me. He is sick so much since he started school. We got a plan, rather than letting him skip school everyday, we are going to work on HIS IMMUNE SYSTEM!! Yep, he hooked Kainoa up with this cool whole foods immune boosting powder that mixes into you guessed it, SMOOOOOTHIES! So everyday Kainoa gets his own whole foods (not some preservative infested over the counter thing) smoothie with whatever fruits he puts in there. We tried it out yesterday and the boy can blend a good one! I'm already convinced Kainoa will get less colds which means less boogers on mom!

As much as I don't like being sick, not to mention it's not good for my job, it hurts worse to see my little buddy up all night sick and in pain...fingers crossed Dr. Traub saved the day again!!

After getting Kainoa from school (with my face mask on of course), we went to the healing ponds. One of the local boys born and raised on the island swears his sisters cousin of an uncle to a grandfather to some Auntie from back in the day that King Kamehameha walked the island said this pond will fix ANYTHING. It has all the Pele power you need to cure you... so me and Kainoa jumped right on in!! I figure it can't hurt and you never have to twist my arm to get in an ocean...

I think we are all better after the ponds...

Tomorrow it's off to REV3, another adventure here I come!! A HUGE mahalo to everyone for the "get better" wishes, it was truly incredible to have so much help from the community & friends all over, (like Brooke letting us barf in her house and cleaning it), others making us dinner, and of course the phone calls, hugs, and prayers!! I really owe you all... SO... anyone that needs a place to stay while I'm at REV3 mi casa es su casa!! ha ha ha...

Big hugs,

So glad you and Kainoa are all better. Preschool can be such a petrie dish of nastiness. I envy your ocean swims, and one day would love to visit and swim with you (I'm lobbying hard for a Hawaii vaca next year since I'll never make it to Kona otherwise!) Muchos abrazos and good luck this weekend!!!

And wash those hands often... I remember hearing somewhere.

Travel can get you also. You might consider the mask and sanitizing wipes for the plane, if you get this before you leave that is.

Have fun at Rev3

Kids - they are little germbags, but ya gotta love 'em. The first year of school my kids got every bug and brought it home for the whole family to enjoy. It gets less considerably less frequent as they get older. Then they just complain about phantom stomach aches and sore feet (that's the latest one here.) I too love the ocean - you're lucky. Good Luck at REV3!

K is just so dog-gone cute - despite bringing home the sickness! After a year to year and half of him in school, you should notice a big difference in his immune system - and yours! Hopefully the time passes without much sickness! You're much as I hate being sick, I would take my daughter's because there's nothing worse than watching your child suffer.

So excited to track you at REV3! Here's to getting healthy and taking the pro field!

I am so in awe how you feel at home in the ocean. I would love to feel that, however, the sea critters make me nervous and anxious.

We are coming out to Kona from Oct 3rd - 14th. I know you are racing, but after the race you must take me swimming in the ocean to help feel what you feel! I might scream a few girl screams and hyperventilate a little, but I am hoping to overcome my fear of the deep blue sea.

So glad you and Kainoa are on the mend. I love that he has his own 'lil man' smoothie blend. Here's to no more boogers!

glad to hear that you guys are feeling somewhat better. it is so tough when the wee ones are sick...and i agree with your dr., it is all about developing immune systems. and i think no matter what you do, you can't avoid the sickies at this age. lucie isn't in daycare or preschool and has been so freakin' sick this winter just from her limited time in the gym daycare or who knows where.
it does get better though - i promise!!! have a safe trip to rev3 - i think that is going to be tons of fun!

No matter how healthy we are, we will get sick sometimes. Makes you appreciate being healthy.

Glad you are feelin better and I am sure that the hiding of special things in K's smoothies will help him, and therefore, you. My paranoid, germophobic side of me thinks that if you know about the ponds - do other sick people too? Or are you in the know?? Cause, then it would be a place were sick people gather and that is like goin to the dr. and getting sick from the crap people are hacking all over the waitin room. See, see how that paranoia of germs kicks into high gear for me!! Your litte bean looks great all tanned and snuggled up to his Mommy!!
