Summer Swell...

We finally got a summer swell... it's little but it's surfable. No matter how small it is, its a day well spent when in the ocean!!!!!! Today was so perfect in life that the only care I had in the world was that my small wave board is in Costa Rica, leaving me with a board that barely floats my booty without strong waves to hold me up...

Tomorrow I got a friend to loan me a more floaty board (but my fingers are crossed that I can use one of my tiny boards in BIG SURF!). At lunch Pat showed me this little video he took of today-I didn't want to post me kooking out on a board-too-small but he was overly humored at my face nearly getting knocked off (he replays it 3x), so I figured I better humor him since he went to all this trouble... thanks Pat! Glad I could make you laugh...

Cheers to day 3 of no swimbikerun...

OMG! I knew you were a good surfer, but you are an AMAZING surfer. This was so cool to watch. I can't believe you stayed up with that board flying at you, well, I can believe it, but WOW!

Keep enjoying the week off, sorta!

I think they should have more triathlon races which would include more disciplines such as surfing and paddle-boarding or kayaking, etc. Maybe speed would not be the issue, just doing it and having fun.
Watching the clip reminds me of a movie I once saw called Blue Crush. In it there was a chick who looked like you and she rode a monster wave. It was nice to hear Three Little Birds again. Haven't heard it since I used to listen to it on Pat's site.

Unrelated - Nice pic in Runner's World! It's amazing they let a tri-chick in their pages.

Beautiful surf video. It is a good thing I don't live in HI because I would never be able to stay out of the ocean. Damn that looks like fun. And I would have to agree - you are a pretty amazing surfer.

That was fun.

Tourist boat in the back?
Do your thighs get tired surfing?? They look as though they would.

Hope you had your sun screen on!

So Bree, as a fellow triathlete/surfer, do you try and justify your surf sessions as swimming time? I at least log in the time I spend surfing haha.

My poor neglected short board sits upstairs in a corner with a prehistoric layer of Mr. Zog's on it. That looks like it was so much fun.

That was a close call on that one break.

OMG that was a close one, that guy was a hondo to be shooting his board like that out there, maybe you need to start regulating. Your ripping girly, I miss you, let me know when you have a weekend free and I will come visit and come surf with you.
