My big discovery of the week is sort of like Forrest Gumps "box of chocolate thing, never know what you're gonna get". Except I'm more into the ocean thing, so mine goes like this, "life is like the ocean, we don't always know what way the current is going to go". What a weird few days from the DNF disappointment & getting back on the horse that bucked me off, to working on my new "sports psychology tricks", to a friend dying Sunday night, to my bike frame breaking,to trying to be strong for Kainoa when I really want to have someone be strong for me, to just being so thankful to my sponsors that support me during all of these currents in life, (and sending me a new frame)...what a weird few days for sure...
The ocean has totally been my saving grace, not to mention the 2.4 mile swim we did where brownies and drinks were waiting for us at the Ironman turn buoy...that was by far the fastest swim back to shore after the refuel! Thanks Cliff for escorting us!!
Training is going super and for the first time I'm learning to let it be an escape. Before it was out of so much love and passion for sport that I did it, now I'm finding it can be more than that. I've got some home work too, to do while I run, it's sort of embarrassing so I'll share it later. But today I did the 8 miles with the homework and at the finish was the most beautiful hot pink sunset, and a couple good friends laughing, (I think they caught me doing the homework).

Other than jumping back into my most favorite sport I've been busy with coach planning "part 2" of 2010 tri-season. We got a map, a plan, and of course I'm never have to twist my arm to keep chasing a dream. I'm just waiting for my head to catch up with my heart and day. I'll scoop you on the rest of the season sooner than later, aloha time :) Till then it's good to have a purpose for these swims, bikes, and runs. Happy training...

Ah Bree, you're having one of those weeks. And tackling it with your trademark positive energy. Very sorry about your friend. Sending big hugs your way and keep eating those brownies...they always cheer me up. Can't wait to hear about the homework.
