Santa Prepares For Hawaii...

The holidays are here and I LOVE them! The little town has Christmas lights up, most the shops are cluttered in hula girls wearing Santa hats, and it's cooling off. Okay, so it's not "break out the snow boots" cold, but it is more chilly than the usual heat that's surrounds the island. It's making the night sky unreal! Stars sprinkled all over black and the sunsets look like brilliant paintings. Giving, sharing, and an even slower pace is happening here, it's so fun seeing so many happy faces, however, the one I'm loving the most is that of Kainoa.
We put up our tree and the other wintry decorations, then threw a Christmas party! It was pretty fun having a holiday party so early before the BIG DAY, 10 of our best friends showed up for more food and laughs than we could serve, from there it sent our "Christmasy spirit" into full swing...
Our focus from here on out is the "Spreading Aloha to The Marshallese" project. We have 19 days till we take Christmas down South to a small village that could use some major lovin'. It has been unreal to see Kainoa working on this. Never once has he asked for a single gift or if he could open any of the gifts that have been dontated. His little heart is just HUGE. Each time I ask him what he wants for Christmas he tells me he hopes Santa gives his toys to the Marshallese! Its awesome! I knew this project would impact the 250 people of the village but I never envisioned the impact it's having on Kainoa to be this large.
We have been working nonstop since my return from Mexico to fill, wrap, and box up Christmas gifts. The amount of used shoes everyone from all over the world has sent has literally taken over the entire lanai! Hands have reached near and far to make this happen and I wish I could thank each person individually. For sure we plan to send everyone that has helped a "Mahalo" with a picture of the children they have helped out. Boxes are still rolling in from cities I never even knew existed!

December 23rd we are traveling South with a crew from Kona to make this Christmas unlike any some have ever known. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to those that have sent support in the way of toys, clothes, shoe boxes, donations, books, and other supplies. It's almost show time!! I hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying family during this time of year, wherever you are...
Lots of ALOHA,
