Cloudy With a Chance of Christmas...

Our day was INSIDE almost ALL day. It was so cloudy and cold, (Hawaii kind of cold). That sort of forced us into doing inside stuff. It began with dehydrating coconuts, 5 of them chopped and ready to make into Christmas Coconut Cookies. We may have eaten half the coconut chunks...

Kainoa made soup at 5:40am. I woke to find him chopping cucumbers and egg plant with a butter knife. He put them on top of seaweed flavored Ramen noodles, and said it would make us feel better since it's so cold out. The soup was cold and the noodles were firm, but it made for good laughs.

.

After almost 6 hours of cleaning and making a donate pile, (no kidding), I finally went for my run at 3pm. It was cool out, cloudy, and perfect for a run under no sun. Directly from run to smoothie I went...

I'm beyond addicted to blueberry, seaweed, spirulina smoothies right now. I also had a very hot date with my 5 yr old to see "Arthur Christmas", so time to change and eat had to be as fast as race day transitions. We made it to the theater with 2 minutes to spare!

...yes, we showed up in matching blueberry mustaches and similar shirts, like mother like son I suppose. The movie was "okay" if it's on your holiday movie list check it out knowing it doesn't feel as good as the Rudolph and Frosty movies we grew up with. I actually dozed off, Kainoa took up four seats trying to find a spot to keep entertained. The ending was the best part, it made you really hold onto your Santa faith. The rest of the movie you kind of wanted to shout at the screen that the Santa's in real life don't act like that.

Of course that Christmas movie then inspired Kainoa to make his Christmas Wish List, love it! Every year I am so thankful that his lists are so short and so easy to tackle. A mom can hope this lasts through high school, right?! Hope your holidays are starting to fill with family and good times, and maybe a nice run...

Kainoa is a born leader, surely. He wanted soup so he got up and made some instead of bothering you. I wish all men were like that.

the week ahead is going to get really busy for me with parties and all sorts of christmas-sy things bud saddly no fresh coconut cookies to go with it
