Simple As A Sunset...

This my friends is the BEAUTIFUL sunrise I woke up to and enjoyed all bike ride long. Hualalai was unveiled, no clouds, no vog, pure and simple. That was my entire day, enjoying the "pure and simple". If only life really were as pure and simple as Hualalai not being disturbed by clouds and vog, I just overlooked the not so pretty parts of life today...
In 15 days is the Christmas moonlight hike up that very volcano. I'm so excited. You leave in the darkest part of the night under only a starlit-moonlit sky and arrive on the top with a view of the sunrise over the island! Count it down...15 days. That made for a good thing to focus on. AND January 22 Maui Half Marathon (Coach decided) is where I will land, phew, first race on the map!
Tonight's sunset was SO beautiful Mike texted me this (see above) photo of it, even though he knew I was on the way to beach Bible Study and would see it for myself (see my picture from the beach below). Got to love him for that photo though...

This gets me every Thursday, Kainoa praying during Bible study! If it really would always be this simple for him, I love it... just love it!

...and this made my day. Kainoa was on the purple leaf at school today! (He is never on purple leaf, notice it was only "some" of the day), but he made some purple leaf time! He has my blood running thick in him, he gets so fired up on every little and big thing that within the walls of the classroom he just wants to explore beyond what only books purple leaf was a great happening for a Wee.

...and this. Mike chopped up 5 coconuts for me so I could have ALL the yummy white stuff and of course fresh juice. Simple, from a tree to me!

...and this. A beautiful wave from Playa Hermosa, my beloved second home. I always enjoy seeing my favorite back yard even if it is miles away from my home now.

...And this. My 2 favorite guy friends that I got to share happy texts with throughout the day. When I got bombarded this morning with a to-do list the size of Mexico it was so wonderful being able to write Kawika about future hikes to tackle (we have 5 things left to do in 2011). And Mike making me get my okole running and to the gym because I AM A DREAM CHASER and GOAL GETTER! Love having great friends, simple to be me with them...
...and this. Reminder that I have only 30 days left in 2011 to get my hike on!

Off to bed now, 2011 has plenty left to do and I need all the energy I can find to make it a good strong finish! 2012 is going to be amazing if it continues to have simple sunsets and moments strung throughout chaos, like today.
