Aloha Friday...

Number 138 is ready to go...it only took her 3 hours to pack all those bags! Much of today was spent sitting with the legs up. Coach gave me orders (strict ones) to play computer or read or watch TV, so I did. Now ALL I am thinking about is racing...just get me out of the house!

Ironman feels A LOT like Christmas! Friends have been sending care packages, letters, notes, emails, and phone calls all week. The sponsors have went above and beyond with making sure I am ready to go, and my family has called me EVERY single day, a few times a day! Ironman is a holiday for sure... A HUGE mahalo goes out to everyone for the support, I am so thankful for the love & prayers! This journey has been amazing thanks to all of you and I never imagined in my wildest dreams to feel the way you all have helped me feel...
Kalani is ready for his first Ironman, hula girl too. Jay at Triathlete was snapping pro bike fotos, I decided it was a good idea too... I like my bike! From there it was bag drop and helmet check. The only real change I made is the salt thingy, I hooked one on my race belt so there is no chance on Earth I will lose them...again...
Check in was cool, Andrew helped me. It's pretty fun being a local & knowing your escort. We just laughed through transition about how this IS NOT A LOCAL Peaman race...really? He let me walk through there a few laps just to make sure I know where my bike is. It is so much closer up front then in 2007 when I was in the back...pretty exciting!
My bike is the row directly in front of the penalty tent, okay, I can remember that.
I even made note of the Women's Change Tent (at Ironman Florida I ran into the Men's Change Tent only to be pulled out just as the men were dropping their pants), Coach almost killed me and I almost died laughing...
Today's BIG brain drain was the packing of the bags and there is still more, the ones we drop in the morning! I'm not sure why, I always tie the bag, then untie it, then tie it again just to open it one last time and make sure I rememered everything. I'm pretty sure I remembered everything: Camera, IPOD, spam musubi! Ha ha, just kidding.
After the hoopla of bag drop and helmet check it was time for a movie... and you will NEVER guess what I watched AGAIN...for the 51st time this taper...
Yep! 50 First Dates! I just love that movie. I love when he says, "I love you just as much as one person could love another person". And I love when Ulu tries to jump off the dock like his keiki only to belly flop! I bet that movie is running through my head during the 112 mile ride! Oh, the highlight... I had company! Poor guys having to watch 50 First Dates, Blue Crush, then Fast and Furious!
I think Australian Pablo (above-fell asleep)... and I am pretty sure Pablo and Ezequiel (below) were snoring... I was laughing! Oh how fun taper is! Okay, time to make pasta...then sleep!
Good night from Kona, and "I love you guys just as much as one person could love you guys". Thanks again for all your support... 140.6 miles, here I come!

I just checked the Ironman website to see your status but you're probably still sleeping since it's only 3:15 am in Hawaii!! I am so excited and can't wait for you to blow your competition away. Good luck and have fun!

Ok, it is almost 4:30 am and you should be up and fed and thinking about heading off to body marking right now.

HOW EXCITING!!!

Have a great day out on the race course and my mission to you is to smile more than Chrissie Wellington while you are racing.

I look forward to hearing all about it!

I am sure you will get this after the race, but KICK SOME BUTT! You are going to have SO MUCH FUN (and pain and struggle, but that is what you train for - you race for FUN!)

Congratulations BREE!!!

I just saw you cross the line in your Splish suit! Way to go girl! My son was so happy to see you cross the line. He came running in the room when I said you were coming to the finish.

Great race! I cannot wait to hear all about it.
